When you are too busy to head off to Sephora and need to look golden for an upcoming event, you’ve got to take things in your own hand. Literally! Thankfully, there’s no dearth of ideas and a DIY peel off face mask is easy to whip up. It will help you get rid of those blackheads in no time. Some of these are more effective than the pore strips that you can buy in pharmacies. 10-15 minutes and some ingredient sourcing from your kitchen, you are all set for blemish-free glowing skin.

Here are four of DIY Peel Off Face Mask recipes to help you get going.

#1 – Milk and Gelatin Peel off

This is the easiest and one of the commonest fast peel-off masks that takes a few tablespoons of milk and a teaspoon of unflavored gelatin. You must first open the pores on your skin. This can either be done by using steam or by applying a warm and moist cloth on your face for a few minutes. Mix raw milk and unflavored gelatin in a small bowl and heat it until it thickens. Keep stirring it to avoid it from sticking to the bottom of the vessel.
Take a small cotton bowl and apply the DIY peel off face mask on your face. Let it dry for 5 to 10 minutes and peel off.

#2 – Egg and Lemon Blast

Break open an egg and separate the white from the yolk. Mix a teaspoon of lemon juice to it and blend until its frothy and thin. Clean your face well and apply this mixture to your face. It will dry in 20-30 minutes. Now peel it off gently starting from either the chin or the forehead. If you find any sticky residue, then use any mild and gentle cleanser to clean it off. Lemon is rich in Alpha Hydroxy Acid which is a very effective cleaning agent against blackheads and other impurities. The egg whites on the other hand, tighten your pores.

#3 – Milk and Honey

Take three to four tablespoons of raw milk and add one tablespoon of organic honey to it. Keep it in a microwaveable bowl and heat it for about 10-15 seconds. Let it cool for a while and then apply it with a cotton ball or a brush to your face evenly. This may take slightly longer to dry. But let it dry completely and then gently peel off. Honey has natural antibacterial properties which make it an excellent choice for acne prone or sensitive skin too.

#4 – Cucumber Mask

Cucumber is a natural astringent and helps to even out your skin tone without drying it in the process. To make this more effective, you can add green tea or chamomile tea to it. Start off by peeling and removing the seeds of the cucumber. Puree it and then strain to remove the liquid. To moisturize, you can add organic aloe vera pulp, unflavored gelatin for cleaning and brewed chamomile tea. Heat the mixture for 10-15 seconds until it forms a thick paste. Apply evenly on your face and peel off gently once dried. You can add multiple coats of the paste until it forms a thick layer on the face.
