There are a lot of skin treatments for various skin issues but not all of them suit everyone. Some skin types are too sensitive for a scrub or a mask made up of strong ingredients. Exfoliation is probably one of the few treatments that almost anyone can use. In this article, we take closer look, how to exfoliate face.
What is exfoliation
The skin exfoliates naturally. Millions of dead cells are shed every day. Aging reduces natural exfoliation. This leads to the necessity of mechanical or chemical exfoliation.
It involves the removal of the old and dead cells on the outermost surface of the skin. This process is essential to keep the skin clear and therefore healthy. Shedding of the epidermis (outer layer) unclogs the pores and reduces acne. There is an increase in skin renewal and improvement in the rate of cell turnover.
The epidermis is the part that is seen on the outside and creates the skin tone. The top layer provides protection from the harsh environment and harmful rays of the sun.
There are a lot of exfoliation products available in the market. The trick is to follow the instructions to the bottle. If it says to leave the mask on for three minutes, please do not leave it on for ten.

Then exfoliate the face with the product of your choice. Apply a little paste on the rag or on the tip of your fingers and rub it on your face with circular motions. This helps get rid of your dead cells. Ensure to cover every inch of your face.
